The sitting desk
This client is very comfortable sitting cross-legged, and so asked me to design and build him a low desk to enable him to complete his paperwork in said position.
I chose butternut, a relative of walnut, so that the piece would be a light as possible and so easy to manouever. The legs were designed to give maximum stability while maintaining a light weight and appearance, and I'm really pleased with the somewhat animated feel they lend to the piece. Note the through, wedged tenons that join the legs to the top. |
